The grant educational project Hub of the EU solutions, operating at the National University «Ostroh Academy», successfully held a one-day event «EU Camp: Respect human rights and values» on April 4, attended by about 40 students from 10th and 11th grades from various parts of Ukraine.
The goal of the event was to help students better understand the standards and general principles of human rights in the European Union, as well as to develop their knowledge and practical skills in the field of fundamental rights and freedoms. The event was aimed at raising legal awareness and promoting the implementation of European values in the educational environment.
As part of the program, participants had the opportunity to attend lectures by leading experts in the fields of education, law, and psychology:
Training № 1 «Standards and Principles of Human Rights in the EU,«» speaker – Tetiana Lotysh;
Training № 2 «Equality and Non-Discrimination in the EU Legal System», speaker – Vadym Liubomyrskyi;
Training № 3 «How to Choose the Right Speciality and University», speaker – Sofia Lozuk.
The experts conducted substantive training sessions on relevant topics, particularly focusing on fundamental human rights and freedoms in the context of EU legislation, the significance of human dignity and personal rights in European law.
Special attention was given to the psychological aspects of these issues, as well as the challenges of professional self-determination – the choice of future profession and specialisation.
In addition to the educational part, the program also included informal activities: participants had the opportunity to visit an excursion of the old academic building of the National University of Ostroh Academy, which allowed for a deeper immersion into the atmosphere of the educational space and cultural heritage.
Participants received valuable knowledge that is crucial for Ukraine’s integration into the EU, as well as positive emotions and became acquainted with such a unique educational institution as the National University «Ostroh Academy».
