As part of the educational grant project Hub of the EU solutions, a Professional Development Program for higher education teachers has been launched: «Soft Skills in Higher Education: EU Expertise». The program aims to equip educators with tools for developing soft skills that are becoming increasingly important in academic and professional environments.
Metacognition as the basis for deep learning
The first training was dedicated to the topic of «Metacognitive Techniques in the Educational Process». The speaker was Ihor Demydovych Pasiichnyk – Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, and President of the National University «Ostroh Academy».
During the training, participants learned about the concept of metacognition and its significance in the learning process, discussed strategies and practices that allow students to consciously control their thinking, and received tools for integrating metacognitive techniques into daily teaching practice.
Academic Integrity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The second training focused on the topic «Academic Integrity: Creating Original Scientific Research Under Modern Conditions». It was conducted by Olga Balatska, PhD in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines at the National University of Ostroh Academy, and a judge of the Rivne City Court.
During the event, the challenges faced by researchers in light of the growing role of artificial intelligence were discussed, as well as methods for developing an academic culture based on honesty, deep analysis, and responsibility towards the scientific community.
Communication, advocacy, and public speaking: the key to confidence
The third training held in English was titled «Workshop on advocacy skills and moot courts». The speaker was Julia Kapelańska-Pręgowska – Doctor of Law, Associate Professor at the Department of Human Rights at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland).
This training focused on developing communication skills, the ability to articulate positions clearly, think critically, and present in front of an audience with academic confidence. Special attention was given to fostering a culture of public expression in the educational environment while adhering to ethics.
