On 4 April, as part of the Jean Monnet module of the Erasmus+ programme ‘Hub of the EU solutions’, the National University of Ostroh Academy hosted an event for future applicants – EU Camp ‘Open EU: Education and information’.
Students of the 10th and 11th grades of Ostroh Lyceums No.1 and No.2 took an active part in the event, which was aimed at opening up new perspectives and opportunities in the field of education and information. In particular, the camp included various activities aimed at developing the intellectual and social skills of the participants, namely:
- Workshop ‘Information resources and opportunities offered by the European Union’. Speakers: Olha Balatska, Director of the I. Malynovskyi Educational and Research Institute of Law, HEUS grant project manager, and Tetiana Lotysh, leading legal adviser of the National Ukrainian Association of Lawyers, HEUS grant project coordinator;
- workshop ‘Rights and responsibilities that affect the development of social skills and the ability to make important decisions’. Speakers: Alina Halaidiuk and Marta Khrin, 3rd year students of the I. Malynovskyi Educational and Research Institute of Law;
- Networking cafe ‘Digitalisation: digital dynamics and perception of changes in the digital era’, which was aimed at teamwork.
At the end of the day, all participants had the opportunity to express their opinions, discuss topical issues and plunge into the world of intellectual communication. This event has become an important link in the training of future leaders who will be able to contribute to the development of modern society.
‘The implementation of initiatives such as the EU Camp Open EU: Education and Information’ is an important step towards the continuous development of educational structures. These initiatives help not only to expand the participants’ knowledge of the European Union and its educational opportunities, but also to stimulate their intellectual and social skills’,
– said the organisers.
The events held as part of such projects provide participants with the opportunity to access the latest knowledge, broaden their horizons, develop critical thinking and teamwork skills. In addition, such projects contribute to the formation of conscious citizens who are able to function effectively in the modern world. They teach participants to critically evaluate information, understand complex problems, look for alternative solutions, and interact with different cultures and perspectives.
The organisers add that the projects initiated under the Jean Monnet Programme of the Erasmus+ programme ‘Hub of the EU solutions’, such as the EU Camp ‘Open EU: Education and Information’, are only part of a wide range of activities aimed at developing the educational sector and increasing its accessibility. The HEUS project plays an important role in this context, facilitating the convergence of European educational institutions, the exchange of best practices and the creation of a favourable environment for educational cooperation.
‘We hope that such initiatives will continue to develop and expand, providing new opportunities for the education and growth of the younger generation that will take responsibility for the future of our world’,
– the organisers concluded.
